What a shame

NEW YORK (Reuters) – The ABC television network said on Tuesday that it has pulled a miniseries about the Holocaust it was developing with

Mel Gibson‘s production company. The move came after Gibson was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving early on Friday and was reported to have launched into a tirade against Jews, asking the arresting officer if he was a Jew and blaming the Jews for starting all wars.

The actor, who holds strong conservative Catholic religious and political views and whose father is a Holocaust denier, apologized on Saturday and has entered a rehabilitation program to treat alcoholism.

As a person who also holds “strong conservative Catholic religious and political views” let me just say for the record that Gibson’s anti-Semitic remarks in no way reflect my own views, or those of anyone I know. I would hope that most people with any sense realize that his opinions are just that; opinions. And deranged, alcoholic illusions.

I sincerely hope he gets the help he needs in rehab. For alcoholism and this more deadly affliction.

Possession is not 9/10 of the law.

From the Clarity and Resolve Lexicon.

waqf: an Islamic religious endowment, wherein the property (land or otherwise) is entrusted to God in perpetuity to be used for the benefit of Muslims. In Islamic doctrine, lands conquered by Muslims in God’s name are considered to be thereafter inviolable and may not be forfeited. Muslim land, past and present, and the totality of its respective awqaf (pl.) are considered to be the eternal property of God and His servants (Muslims). Israel, for instance, is considered to be an Islamic waqf, and therefore not open to appropriation by Jews, even though its their homeland.

So, does this mean Spain owes some back rent?
